Helpful Tips for Visiting Pigeon Forge
Let’s face it – we are facing some uncertain times currently and making the decision to travel is not one that people are taking lightly. We know many of you are wanting to pack up and visit Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains. Of course it is up to what you feel comfortable with, but Pigeon Forge is welcoming vacationers to our area. Here at Whispering Pines, we are open, our pools are open and we are ready to welcome guests to our resort. With that being said, we thought we would put together some helpful tips for visiting Pigeon Forge.
Stay in a Condo
Staying in a condo or vacation rental is always a great choice to make, but especially right now. Our condos make social distancing easier. The condo rentals offer everything you would have at your own home, making it much easier to spend time relaxing and unwinding in the condo and on the resort. You can prepare your favorite home-cooked meal in the full kitchen, enjoy the jacuzzi tub, watch free dvd rentals in the spacious living room or enjoy a card game on the private balcony.
Guests can also enjoy the lazy river, outdoor pool, outdoor hot tub, indoor hot tub, indoor pool and the covered pavilion while visiting with us. We have limited the lounge chairs and table at the pools to help make social distancing easier, but the pools are open! Everything is open at Whispering Pines aside from the sauna and fitness room. There is a great sun deck, overlooking downtown Pigeon Forge that you can easily relax on while on vacation too. Our condos make it easier for you to interact only with the people you are on vacation with and they provide everything you will need while on your stay.
Enjoy the Attractions in Town
Social distancing is easiest when you are outside and we are lucky to have a great playground in our backyard. The Great Smoky Mountains are free and full of fun activities for everyone, no matter their age, to enjoy. You can go on a hike to see a waterfall, take a scenic drive and enjoy the many overlooks, tour some of the historical structures, horseback ride through Cades Cove or tube down the river. There are a plethora of options that make social distancing easier.
In addition to the National Park, Anakeesta is a great way to social distance and still make some fun memories with your friends and family. Anakeesta is located in downtown Gatlinburg and is an outdoor adventure park. They have taken numerous steps to protect the safety of all and that includes free hand sanitizing stations throughout the park. Newly opened is their AnaVista Tower which offers 360 degree views from the highest point in Gatlinburg. At Anakeesta you can also zipline, ride a mountain coaster, shop, relax in rocking chair or grab a bit to eat. They have numerous activities for you to enjoy!
Big Creek Expeditions
There is nothing more exciting than doing some white water rafting! Have your own adventure with Big Creek Expeditions. Located in Hartford, guests of ours receive 1 free adult ticket to enjoy a river adventure in the Smokies. They offer rafting trips for people of all ages and the trips range so they do offer both kid friendly and thrill-seeking trips.
Enjoy a Local Restaurant and Dine Outside
When on vacation, we all typically want to dine out at least for dinner. During this time, dining at a restaurant that has the option of outdoor seating is even more ideal. Restaurants in town are taking precautions and doing their part to keep everyone safe. For me, dining outside is always a great option and I usually prefer it. Some restaurants that offer outdoor dining include Blue Moose, Loco Burro, Crystelle Creek, Bullfish Grill, the Old Mill Pottery House Cafe, 3 Jimmy’s, Bluffs, El Paso’s and McCalisters. If you would rather grab some good food and take it back to your condo, most restaurants are doing curbside and pickup too!
We hope these helpful tips for visiting Pigeon Forge ease your mind a bit about vacationing here in Pigeon Forge. Our city loves our visitors and hope to see more of you soon! Stay safe and practice social distancing!
