Summer is coming to a close, but before Fall hits us, Dollywood is sending the summer off with a bang-literally too! Over Labor Day Weekend, Dollywood guests can gather at their Timber Canyon area and enjoy a spectacular fireworks finale on Saturday and Sunday evenings. All guests of Dollywood can enjoy this, but if you really enjoy fireworks and want the best seat in the house then you can purchase their premium seating for only $15 per person. Come and enjoy the second annual Rock the Smokies! This is an energetic event that will recharge you. Dollywood partners with Premier Festivals to bring this Christian rock experience. Enjoy worship with hundreds of people as you dance to the beat at this Christian Music Festival. This year, enjoy the Newsboys, For King & Country, We Are Messengers, Stars Go Dim, 7Eventh Time Down and Bob Smiley! Rock the Smokies is happening on September 3rd, tickets are still available.
National Southern Gospel Harvest Celebration
September 30th-October 29th is one of the most wonderful times to enjoy Dollywood. That is when their National Southern Gospel Harvest Celebration is in full swing. Visitors enjoy free gospel concerts from some of the most recognized gospel groups and singers. Take a look at the schedule here. The streets of Dollywood are filled with music as you all enjoy the many fun activities that the Park has to offer. The weather is perfect during this time and the Park is beautiful as it is decked out in the festive autumn decor! In addition to the wonderful music that fills the air during this time, artisans from all over the country will be sharing their talents. Enjoy handmade arts and crafts from these artisans that share their love for homemade items. Have a look at the list of artisans from all over the country. This year, some of the crafts include jewelry art, banjo making, loom weaving, paper marbling, woodworking, hand-painted ornaments and so much more! You will likely find a few Christmas presents for some loved ones as well. Nothing like something straight from the heart!
Smoky Mountain Christmas
It is no secret that the Smoky Mountain area goes all out for Christmas. Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are completely decked out in amazing light displays. Well, Dollywood joins in too! The Christmas season is purely magical at Dolly’s theme park. Everywhere you look, you are greeted with twinkling lights and incredible holiday displays. Have kids? Then bring them on down to meet Rudolph and his Friends during this time! Clarice, Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster and Yukon Cornelius will be there to greet and take photos with you all! In the Holly Jolly Junction, where Rudolph and his friends are, you will also be able to decorate sugar cookies, paint and more! It is a Christmas event that your children will talk about again and again.
We all know that the Christmas season is a time of magic for children, but it is also a wonderful and magical time for adults. We touched base on a few of the activities for children to enjoy while visiting during the holiday season, but there is also much for the adults to enjoy. The Christmas season has a way of bringing us all back to our childhood and focuses on what is really important while reminding us to hold those most precious to us a bit closer. Well, nothing reminds me of my childhood more than “It’s a Wonderful Life” and the many Christmas songs that would play throughout the household. New this season, Dollywood is bringing “It’s a Wonderful Life” to life on stage! It is a timeless holiday tradition for many and I personally cannot wait to see one of my favorite movies unfold on stage at Dollywood. In addition to this show, there will be many other shows that will bring all your favorite songs front stage and center. Smoky Mountain Christmas will be from November 5th to January 1st.
Dolly Parton has done so much for our area and she has never forgotten where home is. We are lucky to have a local theme park that focuses so much effort on family fun and family memories. Dollywood offers multiple festivals throughout the year and even though more than half the year has gone by, you can see that Dollywood still has many fun events coming up for people of all ages. Give us a call and book your favorite Pigeon Forge condo, purchase our discounted Dollywood tickets and get to making those wonderful memories with your loved ones!
