Black Friday Survival Guide

The biggest shopping day of the year is vastly approaching and I don’t know about you, but I am already mentally preparing myself for it! I am a shopping fanatic and there’s nothing I look more forward to than Black Friday every year. I love getting to save money while checking things off of my family’s Christmas list as I’m out and about. While I do love this day, it is still one that takes a whole lot of planning. Over the years, I can admit that I didn’t do enough of it, but I’ve been learning and practicing more and more each year. I decided to design a Black Friday Survival Guide and share it with you all so hopefully we can make it through this big day together! Pigeon Forge and the surrounding areas are home to some pretty amazing shopping centers and homemade craft sites that are definitely worth taking advantage of checking out this holiday season. When you stay with us here at Whispering Pines, we actually happen to be right smack dab in the middle of town, making it easy to access all the stores that will be on your list when November 24th finally rolls around! And thanks to our cozy condos, you have a place to come back and relax at once all the shopping is finally over with (for the day at least!) Best of all? We offer FREE TICKETS to numerous shows and attractions that you can enjoy when you need a break from the holiday hustle and bustle! So how are we going to survive this shopping spectacular? Here are some of my tips and tricks that I’ve picked up on over the years that I like to call my Black Friday Survival Guide!

First, make sure you have a good breakfast, you’re going to need all the energy you can get to conquer this day of shopping til you drop! One of the best things about vacationing here in the Smokies is there are so many delicious restaurants to try no matter where you are. One of my personal favorites is Sawyer’s Farmhouse Restaurant. From the service to the food itself, everything is exceptional and it’s one spot I know I’ll be checking out if I’m starting my Black Friday adventure in Pigeon Forge! Are you starting off in Gatlinburg? We got you covered. Take a break from shopping and stop by the Pancake Pantry right on the parkway, it doesn’t get much better than that! It’s an adorably decorated spot that is sure to get you into the Christmas spirit when you’re eating there! Local tip: make sure you bring cash, they don’t accept credit cards. And lastly, if you’re starting off in Sevierville, we’ve got just the place for you. Make sure you dine at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant, one of my absolute favorite spots! A big perk of visiting this particular restaurant? There are plenty of little shops to explore and there’s even a winery! You can check some creative, homemade gifts off your list after enjoying an incredible breakfast complete with complimentary apple cinnamon muffins, apple fritters, and homemade apple butter and julep! This is one place that can’t be missed when you’re in town.

So what’s next? Planning our shopping routine of course! You’re going to have a hard time deciding which stores to visit since there are so many incredible ones around here. I figured I’d help you out and narrow it down to a few must go to areas so you can plan your Black Friday schedule accordingly! Are you a fan of antiques? If you’re starting your journey in Sevierville, you will definitely want to stop by the Great Smokies Flea Market, it’s largest one in Tennessee! You’ll be able to find so many one of a kind gifts at a great price, it might be hard to even get you to leave this destination! I can get lost there the second I walk in because of all the unique stores you come across. It’s a must see when you’re in the Smokies and is one place you need to visit this shopping season. You’ll also run into a few more smaller flea markets and antique stores while you’re there. Next stop? It’s time to head on over to Tanger Outlets where you’ll be getting some great sale prices at some of your favorite stores. You can find almost anything here from kitchenware to shoes and everything else in between (like Bath and Body Works!) You’ll be checking off so many things on your list and saving money while you do so, there’s nothing better than that! Also, don’t forget to take your free coupon book voucher with you that you get when you stay here with us at RPM, it’ll save you fifteen dollars! Local tip: Check out this map to figure out where all the stores are located! So you’ve conquered Sevierville and now it’s time to head to Pigeon Forge, where are we going? The Island is our next stop and it’s one you’ll be glad you visited. With so many interesting shops, you’re sure to find something to check off even the craziest Christmas list you have! What’s extra special about this place? There are plenty of break spots here like attractions and restaurants, so if you have a little one with you, they will love this place! It’s time to end our adventure in Gatlinburg, I’m sure you’re about ready to call it a day, so here’s the last few visits to make! Are you looking for a one of a kind gift? How about some homemade pottery and candles and plenty of other unique items? The Arts & Crafts Community is one destination you won’t want to miss! You will find some of the most incredible pieces that will make everyone in your family happy, this site will become a must see on your future vacations as well! The last place to go is the Parkway. With several shops and attractions, everyone on your shopping adventure will like this spot. What’s even better is you get a mountain view while you’re out and about, talk about a great end to your Black Friday shopping spree!

My last tip to survive this day is to just make sure you take a break and enjoy the scenery while you’re out and about! There is nothing better than seeing the Smokies during the winter. With beautiful and festive decorations and displays no matter where you’re shopping at, you’ll want to take a second to snap some memorable family photos and take in all that this season has to offer here. Family is really what this season is all about and this is such a magical place to spend your time at during the holidays. I really hope this Black Friday Survival Guide helped you a bit while you were out. When you’re shopping trip is over, don’t forget to enjoy your enchanting ride home thanks to the over five million Christmas lights you’ll get to see from Gatlinburg all the way to Sevierville! You’ll be able to end your journey in the most spectacular way and it’ll have the family talking about it for years to come! So what are you waiting for? Book your vacation now! Come and spend the holidays here with us at Whispering Pines, we would love to have you join our family!
